We interrupt our normal programing to bring you this important announcement…
I had today’s post all planned and done ahead of schedule, but then I found out something wonderful over the weekend. One of my best friends EVER just got engaged!!! I decided that was worth interrupting the normal flow of things. I hope you don’t mind.
This particular person has been a friend of mine for practically two thirds of our lives. That being the case, we’ve known each other through all of our relationships, well, the ones that mattered anyway. Before you’re 10, they don’t count. I’ll admit, we almost never liked the person the other one was dating. You want the best for your friends right? And when you’ve been friends as long as we have, you tend to be a bit protective.
Anyhow, from past relationships, there were some girls I liked, but never any I LOVED, not for him anyhow. This lady, I love. And as my friend is a smart man, he recognized she was a lady worth keeping around, forever. He proposed this weekend and I couldn’t be more excited for them. I wanted to do something special, but since we live about a million miles away now, I can’t celebrate with them in person. Living in Europe seems so glamourous, and it IS… but it’s not so great being away from people you care about for the important stuff. Anyhow, today’s post is dedicated to my friend, his lady and their engagement!
I put together a little drawing inspired by my happiness for them, and the fact that I’ve been tying a lot of knots lately (don’t ask, I have my reasons). This is for the soon to be Mr. & Mrs!
I wish I could be there to pop a bottle of champagne with you two, but I hope this does for now. Just to warn you S, the news has reached my family and I have a feeling they will be filing adoption papers soon. It doesn’t matter to them that you’re an adult, as far as they’re concerned, your belong in our family now too.
And the next time I’m in SF, watch out people, we are going to celebrate like there is no tomorrow!
For the rest of you, I hope you all had a great weekend, watched a bit of football and are having a lovely Monday. Another thing that’s not so glamourous about living in Europe: Superbowl? Not important to people in Spain.
We will resume regular posting on Wednesday with little j, here to share some Valentine’s day love (in the form of edible goods) with you. As for me, I’ll be back on Friday. Until then, have a wonderful week and don’t be too knotty while I’m away!
